The calendar opens like a book and has 12 numbered perforated doors. There is an opening on the top and bottom of the calendar, this is where the white internal tray is inserted into the box. We do recommend heat sealing any food items that you place in the tray. The tray is made of an extremely sturdy corrugated cardboard (so it can hold heavy items) and is white inside and out for a clean look!
