Paint Your Own (PYO) cookies have become popular for many cookiers over the past several years. If you are new to the cookie world, PYO cookies are a great way to offer customers an activity and a treat all in one.
Individual sugar cookies are decorated with white royal icing and then stenciled (or printed) with a design so they look like a coloring page. The cookie is then packaged with an edible paint palette and brush that can be used to decorate the cookie. The "paint" in the palette is made with edible food coloring and goes on like watercolor paint.
There’s so much to love about PYO cookies:

Just follow these simple steps using our new product combo to pack and sell PYO cookies this Holiday Season:
1. Bake, flood, and stencil your cookies.
3. Place a glue dot on the back of a pre-packaged paint palette and stick that to the fold-over topper. Place it off to the side so the paint brush doesn’t fall behind the cookie.
4. Staple each heat-sealed cookie to the Fold-over Topper Backer, hiding the staples underneath the fold-over top. You want the staples below the fold line on the card, but above the heat seal line on your bagged cookie.
5. Use glue dots to stick the fold over top flap of the backer down for a clean, professional look.

Players decorate a blank cookie without seeing what it’s “supposed” to look like, then reveal the real design when the timer is up.
